Who: Nurturing Mums

What: Nurturing Mums is owned by Lucinda Hutton, a mother herself, who is passionate about providing postnatal support that is helpful, non-judgemental and sociable.

Once your baby arrives, you have so many questions that you couldn’t possibly know you would need to ask. All babies are different and there is no ‘one size fits all’ way to parent! You don’t always have time to find out all the answers in books or online and when you do there is often conflicting advice. The Nurturing Mums course allows you to ask those questions to experts in a relaxed and sociable environment, where other new mothers can also share their experiences.

The course focuses on key areas of interest to new mums: sleep tips, weaning, baby development and first aid. The course is also suitable for second-time mums who want to make new friends in the area and need a reminder of what it was like the first time around!

The Nurturing Mums course has been carefully designed to give new mums a positive, non-judgemental experience. We have helped so many mums benefit from our informative and fun setup.

Who: Alpha Waves PDS: EasyBirthTM Model by Antonia Boyle

Where: Old Rose House, 65 High Street, Westerham, Kent TN16 1RE

What: The Alpha Waves EasyBirthTM Model aims to put pain in perspective and replace it with calm and control. Antonia believes that the answer to the eternal question of pain in labour, lies in the response of the lucky few that possess a high pain threshold. These Individuals naturally adopt unconscious behaviours, which enable them to divert their attention away from the source of pain and become less aware of these physical feelings. When Antonia, a mother of three herself, became aware of this, she wondered if it would be possible to harness this approach. As a NLP Master Practitioner, Health, Yoga & Relaxation Specialist, she set about studying these individuals with a view to analysing how they achieved this and what they did differently. The next stage was to be able to ‘model’ or copy this behaviour. The EasyBirthTM programme is informed by this learning, it also incorporates some tried and trusted NLP techniques and Eriksonian Hypnosis.

Unlike hypnobirthing, which is most commonly carried out over 5 or more sessions and sometimes a weekend, the EasyBirthTM programme is designed to be delivered in its entirety in a 90 minutes session (with some exceptions, please see website). Who: MamaBabyBliss

What: MamaBabyBliss was founded in 2006 by Justina Perry with the purpose of providing a range of natural holistic services that would support mothers throughout their pregnancy and the early months of motherhood. Having seen the benefits of baby massage with her youngest child, Justina decided to retrain in Infant and Child Massage and set up her own baby massage classes in North London, which would give her more flexibility around her children.

Demand for her classes grew quickly and soon she was running a number of busy MamaBabyBliss Baby Massage and Baby Yoga Classes. However, whilst the babies were being pampered and nurtured, mothers were neglected, which inspired her to train in Prenatal and Postnatal Massage, Pregnancy yoga and postnatal yoga. These treatments and classes were soon after added to the MamaBabyBliss menu of mum and baby pampering! As the company grew, Justina knew she couldn’t be everywhere but wanted to deliver pampering for mums, babies and mums-to-be across the country. So the MamaBabyBliss baby, new mum and pregnancy skincare range was born. The maternity gifts and pregnancy products have since been nominated for and won many awards, but most importantly they have been enjoyed by thousands of mums, babies and mums-to-be.

In a mission to encourage UK companies to support and nurture mothers when they return to work, MamaBabyBliss also offers a unique online Corporate Maternity Gift Members Scheme. Today, MamaBabyBliss operates in the UK and overseas with a network of baby massage and baby yoga teachers, who run their own flexible business to fit in around their family’s needs. Our vision is to empower women and mums to build a new flexible and rewarding career around their family, and share the benefits of MamaBabyBliss with as many other parents and babies as possible!
