Hush Cush review

B Loves: A simple and effective aid to feeding your baby

New mums know that breastfeeding can play havoc with your neck and back as you try to get your baby into the best position to feed. So a new feeding aid that lets you bring your baby up to you, rather than leaning down to your baby, is a great idea.

Created by mum Jana Howard, this nicely padded nursing cushion slides onto the arm of the mum using it, so that it is always there and handy. No more dramas with your baby wailing while you pick up the cushion that has fallen to the floor when you swap your baby from one side to the other! It allows you to bring your baby up to the breast in the tummy-to-tummy position, the best position for latching on and for feeding, and with your baby’s head held higher than their tummy, which helps avoid too much wind being swallowed, as can be a problem if you feed your baby when she is lying flat.

The cushion also helps keep your arm comfortable, even if it’s a long feed as it helps prevent your arm getting too hot.

It’s a simple idea but like all simple ideas, it works – and it is compact and neat, so it’s great for taking with you when you go our or even on holiday. When you’re not using it, you can store items in the centre, such as a nursing cover, wipes, muslins – whatever you would normally have near you for a feed.

The cover is made from100% cotton and can be machine washed at 30 degrees (don’t tumble dry it though). The inner pillow, made from polyester can be sponge cleaned.
