The hotel

What to do

Keen fishers can catch their own lobsters or you can ride a horse along the sand. Take a tour of the lighthouse and visit Simonstown, home to a colony of penguins. There are gold courses within easy reach, vineyards that are home to some of the country’s best wines and nature reserves. Further afield, you can take a cable car up Table Mountain to see the stunning views of the Cape or visit Robben Island, notorious as the prison of Nelson Mandela fo18 years. Or simply head for a quiet beach like Beta Beach that’s as good for bathing as it is for sun worshippers.
