When you’re a new mum, you’re bound to worry about your baby’s safety and you will long to keep her close to you at all times.

That’s why it’s perfect to have your baby sleeping in your own bedroom, in a crib, as close to you as possible. It’s also the advice that health professionals offer too, as well as The Lullaby Trust. Experts believe that keeping your baby in your room, in their crib, next to your bed at least for the first six months can help to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS, also known as cot death). The causes of SIDS are not fully understood but you are advised to have a new mattress for every baby, to put your baby to sleep on their back and to prevent overheating by keeping bedclothes tucked in just below the shoulders – your baby should be in the ‘feet to foot’ position (see more here).

It’s also great if you are sore after the birth, or if you have had a Caesarean – even if you have a bad back, as moving your baby from a bedside crib to feed or comfort them is much easier than reaching down into a cot.

snuzpodThe SnüzPod is a stylish 3 in 1 bedside crib that you can have next to you at all times. It has an innovative zip-down mesh side to allow you easy access to feed and comfort your baby and then be zipped up to provide baby with their own safe sleeping space, away from parents’ bedding. The crib also has a lift-off bassinet that you can take with you around the house, meaning you can always be with your baby. The SnüzPod sits on top of a rocking stand, so you can soothe a tired baby off to sleep with its gentle rocking action. It even has a handy shelf at the bottom where you can store a change of clothes and nappies.
