Boori makes really good quality, solid nursery furniture and has several ranges including this Sleigh style cot. You can also purchase a chest of drawers, wardrobe, changer and a bassinet to create a coordinated nursery. This cot bed is a generous size and looks amazing and it is made in a really classic, old fashioned style from top quality woods.

The material used is sustainable Araucaria timber from Queensland in Eastern Australia, so it is environmentally friendly. You have a choice of finish from English Oak, Heritage Teak, or White.

The ends are curved and the whole thing is well made and solid, which means that it will last – though it is very big and heavy, so make sure you have the space for it and it’s worth getting delivery and assembly. If you buy more than one piece from the furniture range, this comes free anyway.

It has a drop side, which is unusual for a cotbed, as usually their size makes it difficult to create a smoothly gliding side but Borri manages it just fine. The base has two different heights higher when your baby is small, to save you from backache and lower once he can sit or pull up.

When your baby has grown a bit more, you can remove the sides to change it into a neat junior bed. When your child is too big for that and you replace it with a single bed, the cot bed transforms into a sofa, continuing to be a well used piece of bedroom furniture for many years.
