Evomove Nomi highchair review
B Loves: A luxe, design-led highchair, this will look as good in your home as a piece of designer furniture.
Aimed at the kind of parent who is influenced by the look and design of everything in their home, it’s no surprise that this stylish highchair has been designed by the iconic Peter Opsvik, who also designed the Stokke Tripp Trapp years ago.
The main feature of this chair is that it transforms as your child grows, meaning you have a safe, comfortable and ergonomic seating solution from birth to the teenage years – making it great value for money, though it carries a heftier price tag than many run-of-the-mill plastic highchairs. It can be used at the family dining table with no tray, so that you and your baby can enjoy meals together – or add the tray for meals and playtime.
It has a comfortable plastic seat and is very sleek and the seat is designed to support the back, yet allow free movement of the child’s arms. The foot rest has a central knob that stimulates your baby’s feet and two places to rest the feet comfortably too – plus it acts as a handy crumb catcher so not so much muck ends up on the floor!
Small wheels on the rear legs not only mean it’s easy for the parent to move it around but it also means that if the child tips backwards, the seat will simply slide back and the whole thing will not tip over.
As your child gets older, he or she can get on and off the chair all by themselves, again making family and play time at the table enjoyable.
There’s a baby seat to add to the chair so that you can use it from the very earliest months; when they have grown out of this and are ready to sit, add the waist restraint and they can sit in comfort. This in turn is removed and your child will use the Nomi as an ordinary chair.
It’s super-easy to adjust as your child gets bigger and there’s no need for extra tools – it has simple chunky Allen keys that have their own storage compartment in the chair so moveable parts can be undone and done up again easily.
It comes with lots of different colour options available both for the stem (four wood finishes) and the seat, footrest and legs which come in eight stylish colours to suit your décor.
In addition to the main chair, you can add
- Nomi Baby; a padded seat with integral harness for babies up to six months
- Nomi Mini: for children from six to 24 months, this is a waist restraint to keep them safe while sitting
- Highchair Cushion: reversible padding with a different pattern or colour on each side
- Tray: for traditional baby weaning or for playtime
- Harness: if you have a baby who wants to escape, add the harness which is suitable from 6 to 24 months.
