B Loves: Adjusts to suit any sizes of baby or parent, looks luxurious

Recently updated, the Day2 now has even more baby- and parent-friendly features. The philosophy behind the Dutch-made Joolz Day2 (which stands for Don’t Adjust Yourself) is that the pushchair should adapt to the size and needs of the parent and the baby. It is ergonomically designed and is one of the most comfortable and manoeuvrable pushchairs around, as well as having great build quality and luxurious fabrics.

Seat: The seat is set high up, helping you avoid backache putting your baby in and it’s also good in cafés, as your baby will be the right height for the table. The seat is generous and it has an extending, rather than tilting, footrest, which is good for bigger babies which is easy to adjust with one hand. The seat faces the front or the parent and is fairly easy to put on and off, though the buttons can be a little stiff when it’s new – don’t worry, they will loosen up a bit. There’s a generous hood and inside is a five-point safety harness with padded areas on chest and crotch and it has an opening bumper bar. The fabric can be zipped off for washing or you can add a different colour pack – perhaps if you use it for a second baby of a different flavour!

There’s a really nice carrycot that you can use from birth and it will allow your baby to lie flat and facing you, both of which are great for a growing baby. It’s suitable for occasional overnight sleeping with a hypoallergenic breathable mattress with head cushion and it also has a hood. There is excellent ventilation, thanks to breathable panels in the sides that can be revealed – also great for your baby to see what’s going on in the world!

If you want to add a car seat, you need adapters and there are several that are compatible with it.

There are four collections for the Day2:

joolz day 2 tailorTailor can be adapted to suit your style, with a choice of base colour, wheels and fabric. Gris and Graphite colours have a silver chassis, Noir has a black one. You can create 120 combinations from the three colour fabrics, Grey, Silver and Black. There are two wheels colours and 20 colour accents on the leatherette handle and bumper bar.

Chassis: With a brushed silver or black coloured, sturdy chassis, this is going to last even if you have several children and it is neat when folded – although this can take a couple of tries to get the hand of it. You can fold it with the seat on but if you remove it, it makes for more compact storage. Just put the seat in its middle position, then push the button that adjust the handle height. A couple of safety catches to release, then the handle keeps on going down, which collapses the frame halfway. Then just pull up on the bar at the back and it swings together. The frame stands unaided when folded and locks in place. The shopping basket, though small, is neat and easy to access and has a magnetic closure. You can also buy an extra bag that attaches over the middle of the axle, meaning it won’t make the pushchair unsteady.

Wheels: There are large wheels with chunky tyres on the back and smaller, fixed or swivel (using your foot, so avoiding getting mud on your hands) wheels on the front which means that the ride is good even over rough ground but it’s also handy around the supermarket.

Extras: You can add a parasol, footmuff, mosquito net, footboard and cup holder.
