B Loves: Great shopping basket, well priced and a good travel system option

The Click n Move is a neat, all-purpose travel system that gives you the option of using either the carrycot, seat unit or car seat on its durable, curvaceous frame. It has a large, curved chassis in matt black and the wheels attach very quickly and easily. It’s just as simple to remove them just by pushing a button – great if your car boot is on the small side or if the wheels are really muddy, as you can pop them in a plastic bag until you can wash them. The front wheels swivel to make it easy to nip around the shops and you can also lock them in place, though the clips have to be facing the rear of the wheel before you can engage it – a bit fiddly. Unlocking them is just a matter of flicking the clip up, however. The handle is long and high, which is great if you’re tall, though if you’re not, adjusting it downwards with the buttons on either side should mean that you can find a comfortable position. The long handle will mean that you don’t kick the cross-bar as you walk. The brake is a large, easy to find lever on the cross bar and it is incredibly soft to lock and unlock – no scuffed shoes or broken toenails when you’re wearing sandals. The shopping basket is a really nice touch. It’s fabric, so won’t take huge amounts of weight, but it is deep and has a couple of Velcro side pockets for important things. But best of all, it has a zip closure all around it, so you can keep it closed for security and so things don’t fall out.

For the first six months, there is a fairly good-sized carrycot that clicks quickly and easily onto the frame. It has an apron and a hood to protect baby from the elements and should be carried with the handle – don’t be tempted to lift by the hood as you do with some models.

When your baby is older, you can transfer to the seat unit. Suitable from six months, it is a fixed position seat with an adjustable footrest and it can be reclined – only two positions, though. Reclining is with a lever at the top rear of the seat – hard to find at first but once you know where it is, it’s simplicity itself. There’s a chunky bumper bar that can be opened from either side or removed completely to allow you easy access and it has a zip-off cover for cleaning. The seat is quite generous, so even a large toddler will still be comfortable, and there’s a great harness – built on car seat technology, it is a five point harness with chest and crotch pads and it can be adjusted to fit snugly with a one-pull harness adjuster as you get on car seats. Just push a concealed button between baby’s legs (it helpfully says, ‘push’) to do this. The benefit of this kind of harness is that your baby is less likely to slip the harness off his shoulders, which could be unsafe. Though it’s easy to click the seat into the chassis, you might have to do one side at a time when unclicking it – you push down on a grey button to release it from the chassis but if you try to do both sides at the same time, the other side clicks back in. Just do one side, lift and then the other. There’s a generous hood with a viewing window and a raincover that fits over the whole pushchair.

Folding the pushchair is easy and can be done with the seat in place. There are two collars on the frame just below the sides of the handle. Pull up on these (one has a safety catch which you pull up at the same time) and then grab a big chunky knob on the frame. Pull, and the chassis slides together and locks. It also stands alone when folded. To open the pushchair, push a grey button on the side to unlock the chassis and push on the same knob. It can be a little tricky if you’re short, as the movement is away from you but a few tries should see you mastering it.

To fit the car seat, remove carrycot or seat unit and add the adaptors, which are included in the price. The car seat (which you must buy separately) clicks onto these.
