Nuna Demi Grow single to double Pushchair Review
B Loves: A single to double that has lots of configurations
The Demi Grow is Nuna’s first double pushchair but it’s better than that; it’s single-to-double with lots of great features, so if you are expecting your first baby but are already planning for at least two kids, this is a great investment. It’s also fab for twins.
In single mode, you can add the car seat, carrycot or seat unit to the chassis. In double mode, you can add any configuration of two car seats, two carrycots or two seats – or any mix of those. Toddler and new baby? Add the carrycot and seat unit. There are 23 options to choose from.
Seat: Arriving complete with a raincover and a footmuff, the seat unit is suitable from six months up to 15kg (add the carrycot for a from-birth solution) and is a fixed position seat, so use the recline for naps. It has three recline positions that you can alter using just one hand and the seat can face either the parent or the world. The calf support can also be adjusted with one hand so that you can find a comfortable position for even the choosiest baby.
The canopy is already a good size but it also has an extendable panel for more coverage. It offers UPF50+ protection from the sun and also has a flip-out mesh and fabric eye shade to cope with the low sun’s rays in the evening. There is a viewing window in the back of the hood that allows you to keep an eye on your little one; that’s mesh too, so allows for more airflow in the warmer weather if you leave it open.
The seat itself is covered with cosy fabric that is well padded and will not only keep your baby comfortable but will also keep them warm in winter. When the weather gets hotter, you can unzip the fabric from the top of the seat to show the mesh summer seat – that will keep them cool when the sun’s out. The three or five point anti-loop harness has a quick release button to make it easy for you to get your child out when they need a cuddle and the bumper bar can be opened from either side or removed altogether, to allow you to get your baby into the seat and out again.
Carrycot: Spacious and yet cosy for your little one, this can be used from newborn to around 9 kg or four to six months, or whenever your baby wants to roll or sit. It connects easily to the chassis and is ventilated, so suitable for occasional overnight sleeping. It weighs just 5kg and keeps your baby enclosed with its large hood and cover, that cleverly fits on using just magnets. The UPF 50+ hood has a mesh viewing window, dream drape, a fabric and mesh panel that folds out from the hood to provide a darker sleeping space. Inside is a good mattress that has a soft and machine washable cover and the handle is covered with the same luxe leatherette as the pushchair.

Chassis: The chassis needs to be strong and to offer a comfortable ride, so it’s no surprise that it has custom dual suspension. If you flip the lever up, it’s suitable for rough terrain and when it’s down, smooth surfaces are a breeze. The handle, covered with luxe leatherette, can be adjusted to suit any pusher, no matter how tall or short and the brake is easy to push on and push off with one toe. The chassis itself is quite sturdy in appearance – just what you need when pushing two heavy toddlers and its sturdiness means it will be long-lasting and durable with much use. It’s a simple and sleek shape, with the legs coming to a central point where the upper seat, carrycot or car seat click on. This also means the top seat (or the only one when in single mode) is nice and high, making for good interaction with your child.
The shopping basket is very large, which is a great feature, Any parent can tell you that a large basket is worth its weight in gold. Added to that, there is also what’s called the market basket – ideal for shopping, then taking it off the chassis and putting in the boot of the car or taking into the kitchen to unpack our groceries. It sits neatly inside the shopping basket and has two handy carrying straps.
Wheels: The wheels can be protected by fenders that prevent the child in the lower seat from being able to put their hand into the wheel – a brilliant safety touch and included in the price. The wheels are foam-filled and are chunky and durable, making this pushchair suitable for any terrain.
Extras: You can add one or two sets of PIPA car seats adaptors, a rain cover, a footmuff and a wheeled travel bag.
