Quinny Moodd Review

B Loves: Has a unique self-unfolding frame, contemporary look, soft materials

Seat: Suitable from birth thanks to a seat that lies flat, it has an unusual T-shaped bumper bar which again gives a unique look. On earlier models this made it a little tricky to get a reluctant toddler in and out but Quinny has now made it removable, so you can easily pop your baby into the seat and then re-attach the bar. Best of all, it is on an elastic loop, so there’s no chance you’ll lose it. You can use the seat on the chassis facing either the front or the rear and it has three recline positions facing the front and two facing the rear. You can remove the cover for washing and there is a padded five point harness, adjustable handle and adjustable footrest, too. You can also use the Quinny Folding Carrycot for the first six months or so, to let your baby’s spine relax flat, if you choose to and this makes a nice place for baby to nap if you’re out for a long walk. It is easy to clip straight onto the chassis. You can also use the Maxi-Cosi Pebble or Cabriofix car seats (with adaptors) for the first few months, which also clicks easily onto the chassis. The sun canopy is generous and has a high resistance to UV light (SPF50+), protecting your baby’s delicate skin. All fabrics are easy to clean and are are muck-resistant.

Chassis: This is a contemporary and stylish pushchair that boasts a simple unfolding mechanism, working on pneumatics. Unlock the clip and it opens up into its ready-to-roll mode. Folding it is a breeze too, as all you need to do is push two buttons on the handle, push the handle away from you and it folds easily and locks into place again. When folded it is small and the wheels detach to make it even more compact. All buttons and clips to adjust the pushchair, for example the seat recline, the buttons to fold the chassis and the buttons to release the seat, are clearly marked in a different colour to the chassis – so they are easy to spot. You can buy the chassis in classic black or pristine white with a choice of seat colour (check the website for options). It has an adjustable handle and the shopping basket, though small, it very easy to access.

Wheels: The chassis has very good suspension and generous rear wheels. The smaller double front wheel  can be locked in place or you can release it to swivel which is ideal for shopping.

Extras: It comes as standard with the baby nest, raincover, adaptors for Maxi Cosi Pebble or Cabriofix, shopping basket and sun canopy included in the price. You can add the Quinny Folding Carrycot and a choice of the car seats, a footmuff for cold weather and a parasol for sun, a cup holder and a clever bit of kit that transforms it from a three- into a four-wheeler.
