Silver Cross Spirit Review

B Loves: Lightweight and compact, it’s a great city stroller

Silver Cross has intruduced the new Spirit to be the best little agile stroller for city life. It’s lightweight, very compact and folds in one movement.

Seat: Despite the compact size of the stroller, the seat has a completely lie-flat positions and can be placed on the chassis in both forward and parent facing modes. It has a free-flow ventilated seat back to help keep your little one cool in hotter weather which can be closed in cooler weather using the included reversible padded seat liner. There’s also a cosy newborn head hugger that’s deeply padded in the seat and you can add the sleep pod to make a bassinette style pod for newborns. This has a second life as a footmuff in soft jersey. There is also a generous UPF50+ hood that is a good size with an extending section that zips open and has a pop-out sun visor to keep your little one protected from sun and wind and the viewing window that enables you to keep an eye on your baby has a magnetic opening that is silent, so you won’t wake a sleeping baby. Inside is a five-point harness to keep your little one safe with deeply padded shoulder and crotch pads and it has three adjustable positions so it can grow along with your baby. The foot rest can be folded down when your child wants to sit up or can be placed in line with the seat for younger babies or nap time.

Chassis:

The chassis folds quickly and simply using the “One-motion foldTM” and when folded, is freestanding. To fold, flip the seat forwards into the base of the chassis, fold the handle bar forwards and the chassis folds in half – there’s a neat little handle to carry it by. It has an articulating bumper bar that offers both a place for your baby to hang onto and can be opened from either side or even removed completely to allow easy access to your baby. Brakes are sturdy, and have a quick release mechanism that you push down towards you to lock and then push up away from you to release. It won’t scuff your shoes. There is a good-sized storage basket under the seat that you can use for your baby’s gear and shopping when you’re out and about. The handle bar can be adjusted for any height of parent using simple push buttons on the handle.

Wheels:

The Spirit has lockable, swivel front wheels for great manoeuvrability around the streets and in smaller shops. The tyres are puncture-free with a unique tread and there’s four-wheel suspension so that the stroller offers a comfortable ride for your baby.

Extras: You get the car seat plus raincover, insect net and newborn pod / cosytoes so you won’t need to buy much else.
