We Made Me Pao Papoose Review

B Loves: So easy to adjust and all moving parts and buckles in signature blue

With its instantly recognisable blue buckles, toggles and poppers, the Pao is a great little carrier from We Made Me, the makers of the BabaSling and the Wuti Wrap. Stylish and super-adjustable, this is a soft-structured upright baby carrier that has been developed for babies from four months up to about 36 months – as long as you’re still strong enough to carry them!

The carrier can hold your baby facing you or facing the world and has well padded shoulder straps to take the baby’s weight comfortably. It can also take your baby on your back, meaning you have your arms free (great for the supermarket) and you’ll be able to take a heavier tot on your back. In addition to the shoulder straps, which can be worn crossed at the back or rucksack style, there is a padded waistband and soft wadding that will further spread the baby’s weight across your torso, thus avoiding aching shoulders or neck. The wadding at the front of the waistband will be soft for your post-partum tummy, even if you had a Caesarean.

It’s really easy to adjust it to fit the wearer, even if you swap between wearers frequently. It will also grow with your baby. All the parts that help you get a more comfortable fit are in the signature blue, so they are really easy to spot. The head support section is adjustable and folds out to make a hood to keep your baby’s head warm and dry. The baby’s section is designed to allow your baby to sit in the best position for hip and spine development and the leg openings are well padded so that there are no thin edges of material to cut into your baby’s leg.

Made from 100% cotton, the Pao is machine washable at 40 degrees. It comes with a fun and beautifully designed Babywearing Guide, featuring characters inspired by sacred animals. And in case you don’t use it for a while then come back to it, the instructions are handily sewn in the carrier pocket. There’s even a pouch with a handle that you can use as a day out bag.
